Al’s Gifted Aviaries launched December 2008 after the owner educated himself about raising cockatiel over a period of 18 months. His birds are raised in his home with love and care, using either hand feeding or hand taming allowing mum and dad to feed the baby first, if at all possible. The hand taming is most important as cockatiels are loving, playful and sociable creatures to their owners.
The birds are fed a balanced diet of assorted seed mix, fresh vegetables, cereal, rice and pasta. Birds do not remain healthy if given only a diet of seed.
To keep your bird healthy it is essential that their cage is kept clean using a non-toxic cleaning solution of simple vinegar and water.
If buyers already have birds in their home a quarantine of 30 days in a separate room is recommended
Besides cockatiels the owner has raised budgies and has a Green Cheek Conure among his feathered friends.
Buyers are given a print out of bird care and what is safe or hazardous for their new birds to eat. Owner Al is a great source of information and is willing to keep in touch with customers for any additional help they may need with their new bird.
